Meet Lieutenant Sang Park

Office of Operations - North Command

Lieutenant Sang Park joined the Sacramento Police Department in 2006. As an officer, Sang has worked in patrol, field training, SWAT, Crime Analysis, and Outreach & Engagement. In 2017, Sang was promoted to Sergeant where he supervised several patrol teams, the Bike Unit, the Central & East Command’s Neighborhood Crimes Unit, and the Burglary and Property Crimes Unit. In 2023, Sang was promoted to Lieutenant and currently serves as a Watch Commander in our North Command.

Sang earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley. His professional development courses include the Sacramento Police Department’s Front Line Leadership Course, Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, and POST Supervisor Course. Sang has been a member of the Sacramento Police Department’s Honor Guard for the past 12 years.

Sang has been awarded the Sacramento Police Department’s Unit Citation twice for his work with the Honor Guard and Bike Unit. Sang has also been recognized as the Employee of the Quarter for his work in the Outreach & Engagement Unit.

When Sang is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, camping, and mountain biking.
