Kristine Morse

Meet Lieutenant Kristine Morse

Office of Investigations - Research, Development and Training Division

Lieutenant Kristi Morse began her career with the Sacramento Police Department in 2002. She is currently assigned as lieutenant of the Employee Development and Training Unit. She previously served as Watch Commander assigned to the South Command.

Kristi decided that law enforcement was her chosen career in high school. After attending Sonoma State University and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration, she decided to come back to the Sacramento area and applied to the Sacramento Police Department. She was selected to be a part of Sacramento Police Academy class 02BR-3 and began her career of policing in March 2003.

After working in patrol, Kristi made the move to the Office of Investigations. She has been fortunate to work a variety of different investigative units, including Vice, Felony Assaults, Homicide, and Neighborhood Crimes.

In 2014, she had the opportunity to work with the FBI on their Child Exploitation Task Force. This Task Force focused on the commercial sexual exploitation of children, which is commonly referred to as Human Trafficking. Kristi saw firsthand the benefits of working with our federal partners as well as creating relationships with other agencies outside of law enforcement for the purpose of assisting victims as well as furthering cases for prosecution.

Kristi worked in Internal Affairs and promoted to sergeant in 2018. She supervised the Entertainment Team for two years and has a great understanding of Sacramento’s robust nighttime economy. After the E Team, she supervised the Department’s Criminal Intelligence Unit until she was promoted to lieutenant in September 2022.

Kristi received the Bronze Medal of Valor in 2005, a Unit Citation in 2008, the ICI Award for Investigative Excellence in 2009, and the Eastern District of California US Attorney’s Office Investigative Award in 2018.

Kristi is married to Lt. Doug Morse and they have two sons.
