William Conner

Meet Lieutenant William Conner

Office of the Chief - Special Services - Internal Affairs 

Lieutenant Will Conner began his career with the Sacramento Police Department in 1996 as a volunteer, and became a police officer in 2001. He is currently assigned to Internal Affairs. He was previously a Watch Commander with the North Command and the lieutenant over the Traffic/Air Ops Unit in the Metro Division.

Prior to this assignment, Will held many positions throughout the agency, including Patrol Officer, Motor Officer, Marine Officer, Mounted Officer, Field Training Officer, Traffic Investigations Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Mental Health/Hospital Sergeant, and Professional Standards Sergeant.

Will graduated from Sacramento State College with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Christian Leadership at William Jessup University.

He was born and raised in South Sacramento and was drawn to a career in law enforcement because of his desire to serve the community in which he grew up.

He enjoys instructing at the police academy and in advanced officer training as well as participating in community events and assisting the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy and the Knights of Columbus.
