Dog buildings on quarantine

Kennel space is critically low due to multiple dog buildings shut down with a parvovirus quarantine.

If you find a stray dog, you can save lives by holding onto them or asking a friend or neighbor to hold onto them until at least Sunday, June 22, when we anticipate the quarantine will be lifted.

Thank you for your consideration.

Local lost & injured pet phone scam

If you receive an urgent call from anyone claiming to be staff from a Sacramento-area animal shelter (even if it looks legitimate on your caller ID) and they are demanding you pay them money over the phone or via test to reclaim your injured pet, immediately hang up and call your local shelter directly.
