Sacramento City Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS) became a closed retirement system on January 28, 1977, after Measure E passed.
No supplementary employees have been added to the SCERS plan since January 28, 1977. SCERS retirement benefits for eligible retirees or designated beneficiaries are calculated based upon age, final compensation, and length of service.

- Standard Continuation Packet (includes application for continuation, direct deposit form, and tax forms)
For an eligible spouse or beneficiary to receive continuation of pension payments when the retiree has passed away. - Beneficiary Designation
For a retiree to determine which beneficiary will receive their $500 death benefit. - Change of Address and/or Name
For a retiree or designated beneficiary to notify the City of Sacramento if they have changed their name and/or address. - Setup or Change Direct Deposit
For a retiree or the designated beneficiary to set up or change direct deposit. - Claim For Death Benefit (includes W-9 form)
For the designated beneficiary to request the $500 retiree death benefit. - W4-P
Tax form to change federal tax withholdings. - DE-4P
Tax form to change the State of California tax withholdings. - Reciprocity Information
Provides general information for SCERS members who may have had SCERS and then CalPERS retirement.
