Brenda was drawn to work in law enforcement after having had only two employers since she began working at age sixteen: Funderland in Land Park and the City of Sacramento. The day after her high school graduation, she started with the 4th R Program and worked there while attending college. She always thought that she would find a job within Parks & Rec and that’s where she would stay, as her sister had done. However, an opportunity presented itself to work at the Police Department, and she took it. She started as an Accounting Technician, then promoted to Junior Analyst, then Administrative Analyst, Administrative Officer, and finally, to her current position as Public Safety Administrative Manager. Brenda has been with SPD for almost 15 years and couldn’t be happier. It’s like a family, and she truly believes that those who work here try to do the right thing for the community we serve.
