Meet Lieutenant Jeffrey Shiraishi

Office of the Chief – Professional Standards Unit

Lieutenant Jeffrey Shiraishi began his career with the Sacramento Police Department in 2003. He has worked as a Student Trainee, Patrol Officer, POP Officer, and with the Crime Suppression Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit, Homicide Unit, and Internal Affairs Division. He currently oversees the Professional Standards Unit.

Jeffrey graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, from Kaplan, Inc. Online University. His professional development classes and certifications include Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Class 433, and Defensive Driving Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

Jeffrey is a recipient of the department’s Unit Citation Award. He is proud to have been a member of the Social Media Activity Response Team.

Jeffrey was drawn to law enforcement for the excitement of calls for service, long-term problem solving, team camaraderie, and service to our community. As a second-generation Sacramento Police Department officer, he has always had great respect, honor, and admiration for the organization. When given the chance to serve our community, the Sacramento Police Department was the only choice!
