CLARA - E. Claire Raley Studio for the Performing Arts

CLARA is a Sacramento-based nonprofit with a mission to drive equitable creative and cultural education and expression in the Capitol Region. The nonprofit operates the former Fremont School on 24th and N St – a striking Spanish Eclectic-style brick building which has served as an educational hub for Sacramento students for more than 100 years.  Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) donated the property to the City of Sacramento as a home for the arts in 2016; the arts organizations in residence at the building all pay a portion of their total rent as in-kind arts education, donated back to the students of SCUSD. In the 2022-23 school year, the tenants of CLARA donated more than $250,000 of in-kind arts education programs and services to the students of Sacramento. Independent from these donated services, CLARA is itself an education program provider, using the performing arts as a tool to teach students resilience, empathy, collaboration, and other 21st-century skills. Our in-school and online programs serve 88,000 students throughout Sacramento County each year.

If you are looking for a unique venue to host a private celebration, CLARA has multiple rentable spaces to meet your needs, in our historic and artistic facility.
