Bike enthusiasts have long started and ended their destinations right here at the Sacramento Marina. As a “go between” between the trail near Sutterville Road and Old Sacramento, it’s the perfect location to meet up, use the restroom facilities at the launch ramp and get a drink or snack in the Marina Administration Office.

Boaters in the marina have the option to get to where they need to go by their bicycle and do so often! Short rides abound to Old Sacramento, downtown, Broadway Blvd and Raley Field. The map below displays connection to the American River Bike Trail. Map your next ride and share with us!

Annual dredging

The Sacramento Marina is required to perform annual dredge activities at the entrance of the launch ramp to remove silt build-up and improve access to the Sacramento River. This causes the temporary closure of the Marina once a year.

The Sacramento Marina must dredge between August through October because the Federal permits that are issued to marina impose restrictions that only allow dredging during this time of year to protect the fish and wildlife in the Delta system, which ultimately benefits the marina.

Advance notice is always posted to inform marina guests when the launch ramp will be closed due to dredging.
