Daniel DeLeon
Meet Lieutenant Daniel DeLeon
Office of Operations – South Command
Lieutenant Daniel DeLeon began his career with the Sacramento Police Department in 2004. He was promoted to Lieutenant in April 2025 and is currently a Watch Commander for the South Command. Over the course of his career, Daniel has held a variety of assignments, including pre-hire, Patrol Officer, Crime Suppression Officer, Academy Recruit Training Officer, and seven years as a member of the SWAT team.
Daniel has also served extensively in the Training Division, where he has been a lead Use of Force Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Less Lethal Instructor, and Taser Instructor. In 2022, Daniel was promoted to Sergeant. In that role, he served as a Patrol Team Supervisor and later as the Sergeant of the Central-East Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Team. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in April 2025. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and cheering on the Miami Dolphins.
