Greg is proud to have been a part of SPD’s development of the Crisis Intervention Training program for all department personnel. It was an honor and privilege to help develop a program that gave our officers new tools for working with people who are experiencing mental illness and crisis events. Greg was drawn to law enforcement in his teenage years, as he saw it as a noble profession and a giant family. No matter how big an agency is, they all treated each other as if they were one large family, working towards the same goal. It was, and always has been one of our nation’s oldest professions, filled with tradition. It was also a profession that always worked to better itself. Greg knew SPD was the right fit for him. When he was young, he saw SPD as pioneers in technology, training, and advancement. It is also one of the oldest police departments in the nation. The city itself has a lot to offer anyone who lives and works here.

Greg’s hometown is Cottonwood, California. His father is a retired Cal Fire Captain, who spends his retirement with his wife on their ranch. Greg’s mother has always worked in the health care field. Greg is an avid backpacker and hiker who loves touring the Tahoe Forest and surrounding wilderness.
