Meet Lieutenant Zachary Eaton

Office of Operations – South Command

Lieutenant Zachary Eaton has been with the Sacramento Police Department since 2010. He is currently assigned as our South Command’s Executive Lieutenant in the Office of Operations. Zach has also worked assignments in Patrol, Regional Transit, Gang Enforcement Team, Major Crimes Detective, Criminal Intelligence Unit Detective, Patrol Supervisor, Gang Enforcement Team Supervisor, Public Information Officer, and Watch Commander.

Zach holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Pepperdine University and a Master of Science degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego.

Over the course of his career, Zach has earned the Sacramento Police Department’s Distinguished Service Award, Unit Citation, Community Service Award, and named Employee of the Quarter three times. Additionally, Zach has been awarded with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Distinguished Service Award, California Peace Officers Association’s 12 Under 12 Award, and an ATF Appreciation Award.

Off-duty, Zach enjoys being with his family, cooking and barbecuing, watching the Las Vegas Raiders and Sacramento Kings, and trying new restaurants with his wife.
