About the reserves

The Reserves can trace their history back to 1953 when they began as the Sacramento Fire Auxiliary for Civil Defense. The Reserves are Headquartered today at Fire Station 99 on Arden Way in Sacramento CA.

The Reserves respond to calls, support events, partake in training, and in turn are given guidance on how to become a firefighter with our department while we help them prepare for a career position.

What to expect

Reserves support the SFD by responding to calls and help with refilling air bottles, providing food and water to crews, and assist with any clean up to get the crews back into service.

Reserves will participate in training with firefighters and will be given the tools to help guide them to a full time position with our department.
