Business Rebates

Rebates that help pay for water-saving  are offered to eligible commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-family customers within the City of Sacramento.

Outdoor Rebates

Multi-family properties of three or more units, commercial and institutional customers can receive rebates of up to $50,000 to convert grass to drought-tolerant landscaping, upgrade the efficiency of irrigation systems, install WaterSense labeled smart irrigation controllers, or a combination of all three.

Indoor rebates

Download an indoor rebate application to apply for any of the rebates below.

• Pre-rinse spray valves - up to $75
  
• Plumbing flow control valves - $2.50 each, minimum of 20
• Air-cooled ice machines - up to $300
• Cooling tower controllers - up to $500
• Connectionless food steamers - up to $200 per compartment
• Dry vacuum pumps - $60 per 0.5 HP, up to 2
• Laminar flow restrictors - $5 each, minimum of 10

Customers can also get rebates for replacing toilets with high-efficiency versions. Submit an online form or mail in a printed application.

• Gravity flush toilet - $150 per unit
•  "Flushometer" style toilets or urinals - $250 per unit
  

Customizable rebates

Businesses that make water-saving upgrades to their properties or processes may be eligible for rebates of up to $50,000.

Eligible upgrades include:

• Equipment and technology for space cooling, refrigeration, laundry, cleaning and flushing
• Air conditioning condensate capture
• Eliminating processes that are water intensive

How to apply

Follow these steps to apply for an indoor business rebate or to customize your own:

1. Call City water conservation staff
   Customers must call before applying to schedule a free business consultation and audit.
   
   
2. Complete the application
   Complete an indoor rebate or customizable rebate application.
   
   
3. Install your approved product
   Install all products or equipment that were approved by City staff.
   
   
4. Mail in your application
   Once the approved work is complete, mail a completed and signed rebate application form within 30 days of purchase date. Include a copy of the water service bill that identifies the installation address and account number of the location where the purchased product is installed, along with the sales receipt.
