Pools (Residential or Commercial)
The pool activity type is used to exclusively permit residential or commercial pools. If a project will include other work it should be permitted separately on the appropriate activity type. An example of the need for this is the construction of a new commercial pool and Pool house or cabana. The cabana should be on a separate new building permit.

Regional sanitation
All commercial pools must provide a receipt from regional sanitation, not due for residential pools
Strong motion fee
If the Building discipline will field inspect the project.
Technology fee
Due in some circumstances on residential and commercial pool permits
Circumstance under which fee is due:
City operations tax
Only charged if a California licensed contractor is the permit holder.
Construction debris fee
Charged if the project value is $250,000 or more or has a scope of work covered by the California Green Building Code.
ESC (erosion & sediment control) grading
Charged if the submitted plans include landscape sheets.
Landscape document package application fee
Charged if the submitted plans include landscape sheets.
Plan review – expedite (building division)
Charged when expedited plan review services are requested and provided by the city. An example would be over the counter plan review.
Planning division, expedited plan review fee
Charged when expedited planning plan review services are requested and provided by the Planning Division. This is an optional service.

Planning division, inspection fee
Charged on building permits for which field inspections are performed by the Planning Division. The fee is based on the project valuation:
- Building Permit Planning Inspection - Commercial (Less than $100,000 Valuation)
- Building Permit Planning Inspection - Commercial (Less than $3M Valuation)
- Building Permit Planning Inspection - Commercial (Over $3M Valuation)

Planning division, mitigation monitoring fee
Charged on building permits for which field inspections are performed by the Planning Division regarding a mitigated environmental Entitlement requiring a monitoring plan.

Charged on building permits for which field inspections are performed by the Planning Division regarding a mitigated environmental Entitlement requiring a monitoring plan.

Public works fee
This fee is calculated by Public Works Staff in the Development Engineering section. The fee is a function of the number of plan review hours expended reviewing the project.
Utilities fee
This fee is calculated by Utilities Department Staff in the Utilities Development Services section. The fee is a function of the number of plan review hours expended reviewing the project.
Water development fee
May be due depending on the use history for the parcel combined with the proposed use. This fee is calculated, assessed and invoiced by Utilities Department staff of commercial projects.
Water meter fee
All; fee varies based on water service size which dictates the required meter size. This fee is calculated, assessed and invoiced by Utilities Department staff of commercial projects.
