Candidates for City Council Election

June 2, 2026 - Municipal Election

On June 2, 2026, an election will be held for the following Sacramento City Council Offices:

  • Council District 1
  • Council District 3
  • Council Distirct 5
  • Council District 7

The period in which prospective candidates may receive and file nomination packages will open February 9, 2026, and end March 6, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. The California Elections Code prohibits nomination documents from being distributed or received before or after these dates. 

Prospective candidates must pick up and submit nomination documents at the Office of the City Clerk located at New City Hall 915 I Street, Sacramento CA 95814; between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Office of the City Clerk will be closed on February 17, 2026, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

This webpages shall be, in accordance with California Election Code 10224.5, updated with the name of all candidates issued nomination packages and indicate if the candidate is an incumbent councilmember. 

The California Elections Code prohibits nomination documents from being distributed or received prior to February 9, 2026.
