RiverArc is a project to improve the Sacramento region's water supply reliability by better balancing supplies from its two major surface water sources, the American and Sacramento rivers.

Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report and Public Scoping Meeting

The City of Sacramento has submitted a Notice of Preparation to begin the development an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the RiverArc Project.

RiverArc Project would shift a portion of existing and planned regional water demand from the Lower American River to the Sacramento River.

The Notice of Preparation provides information about the proposed project and its potential environmental impacts to allow recipients the opportunity to provide meaningful comments related to the scope and content of the EIR.

A public scoping meeting will be held to inform interested parties about the proposed project.

The virtual meeting will be held via Zoom on May 14, 2025, from noon to 1 p.m.

Comments and suggestions regarding the scope of analysis in the EIR will be accepted for a 30-day public comment period, beginning on April 23, 2025, and ending on May 23, 2025.
