Pocket Road Sewer Replacement at East Shore Drive
A portion of the sewer system at the intersection of Pocket Road and East Shore Drive is being replaced to address an existing depression in the roadway and improve the condition of the intersection.
The project includes:
- Removing and replacing an existing sewer manhole
- Replacing about 50 feet of sewer main
- Repaving the intersection to permanently address the roadway depression
- Drilling wells and conducting 24/7 dewatering operations to manage groundwater levels during construction
Traffic impacts
Westbound traffic on Pocket Road between Greenhaven Drive and Harbour Isle Lane will be reduced to one lane and redirected to the eastbound side of the road.
Eastbound traffic will also be reduced to one lane between Willow Point Way and Greenhaven Drive to accommodate the westbound detour.
The entrance from East Shore Drive onto Pocket Road will be closed for the duration of the project.
Closures are necessary because the project requires significant excavation, including dewatering the construction site because of the high water table in the area.
Schedule
Construction began in September is expected to be completed by the end of November.
Lane/road closures and paving schedules are dependent on site and weather conditions and may change.
