Throughout the years, Cristel has demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility through an extensive record of volunteer service. Early leadership roles—such as organizing a pen-pal and donation program for students in Nicaragua and serving as president of multiple student clubs—set the foundation for later contributions in translation, educational access, and community outreach. Cristel has supported free medical clinics, taught English in under-resourced communities, and facilitated cultural exchange programs for students in Taiwan and Mexico. Work with the Mexican Consulate in Sacramento further showcased Cristel’s ability to coordinate large community events, including college readiness fairs and leadership conferences that reached hundreds of local families. As a Sacramento Community Ambassador, Cristel will bring a unique blend of global perspective, compassion, and hands-on community engagement—qualities that help strengthen connections, celebrate diversity, and build a more vibrant and inclusive city.
