Universal Universe
The theme of Southside Park's, "Universal Universe," playground is "the solar system." Unique play features as well as colorful and textured pathways are included in the design to create a sensory enriched accessible playground. Play elements include adventure play equipment with access ramps and handrails, tot lot play equipment with access ramps and handrails, a merry-go-around, swings, spring riders, group rocking units, self propelled spin play units, independent climbing apparatuses, and play units with sound features. Other brightly colored play features (with protective rubber surfacing) are in shapes of different planets; they, the decorative central seating area (with seat walls), and the concrete paving with colored sun pattern all add to the solar system theme.
