Rates, use, and payment requirements in off-street facilities

Rates and use of garage facilities

Payment is required in any parking facility displaying the proper rate signage. Parking citations will be issued for non-payment. Garage rates are subject to change, including daily rates, pre-pay rates, and SacPass rates.

Vehicles with disabled placards or plates are required to pay in garage facilities. California state law provides an exemption to time limits and meter payments on the street. These exemptions do not apply to off-street parking facilities such as parking garages.

Facilities listed below are the only facilites owned or managed by the City of Sacramento. Inquiries about any other facilities, includuing invoices for non-payment, should be directed to the private parking management company using the contact information posted at their facility or on their invoice.

Pre-pay rates

Pre-pay rates are flat-rate payments collected at the parking facility entrance. Cash, credit, or debit cards are accepted forms of payment.

The pre-pay rate allows parking until 6 a.m. the next day. These events are active during large events and busy garage usage days. An attendant will be at the entrance to collect payment and issue an "exit ticket", which must be used to later exit the facility. Pre-pay dates and rates are subject to change. Validations or discount coupons are not valid during pre-pay events.

Drivers with a pre-paid SacPass, SacPark Reservation, or valid monthly permit may enter using those credentials during pre-pay events.

Lost ticket fees

A ticket will be dispensed upon entry, unless the driver presents a monthly permit or pre-paid pass. The same ticket must be used to exit the garage. Failure to present a ticket upon exit will result in a "Lost Ticket" fee issued in the form of an IOU. The fee is equal to the garage's maximum daily rate plus an administrative processing charge.

Failure to present any parking pass or monthly permit upon exit will also result in a Lost Ticket fee (IOU) and payment will be required within seven days, unless the lost ticket can be produced within 72 hours of the lost ticket fee notice.

Lost ticket reimbursement forms are available at the garage where the IOU was issued. If the ticket is not found, then failure to pay the Lost Ticket (IOU) fee may result in a parking citation for violation of Sacramento City Code 10.44.090(A).

Facilities without an attendant

Facilities without an attendant are equipped with payment machines located either by the garage elevators or at the exit gate when the vehicle pulls up to the exit reader. Read and follow payment instructions carefully before depositing your fee. Parking citations will be issued to vehicles parked in a facility without payment or authorized parking credential, such as a pre-paid pass or monthly permit.

Monthly parking is only offered at locations reflecting a monthly parking rate. Some facilities listed below are managed by the City of Sacramento on behalf of other private or public facility owners.
