Rental terms
Rates are determined by the overall length of the slip or boat, whichever is greater.
A boat shall not exceed more than 10% of the slip size.
Vessels may not exceed 10% past the finger of the slip.
Slip electricity rates
Depending on location, 30 or 50 amp service is available at the following rates:
- Boats under 40 feet: $12.00/month
- Boats 40 - 50 feet: $20.00/month
Dock lockers
Dock lockers are available for $15.00/month. Please contact the Marina Office for availability. Lockers must be installed by City staff. Flammable liquids, oil, paint, or varnish are all prohibited to be stored in the dock locker.
Violations of slip rental or use of slips
The Sacramento Marina is a recreational facility. The following uses are a violation of the Marina Slip Rental Program:
- Living aboard boat (residential use)
Operation of any form of rental service, including but not limited to: AirBnB, VRBO
- Subletting rented slips or unauthorized leasing of any slips
- Commercial activity, such as chartering tours, cruises, or events
- Any related business involving renting out boats or unauthorized use of the Marina to operate a boat rental business
- Unauthorized boarding of boats other than the one in your rented slip
- Vandalism, theft, or unauthorized removal of any items from boats in slips other than your own rented slip
- Occupation of slips that are not assigned to you
- Occupation of slips without payment of the monthly fee

Slip rental process
Complete a Slip Application online and upload all documentation listed on the application using the application online portal
OR
Email the following items to SacMarina@cityofsacramento.org:
- Valid Photo ID
- CA Boater Card (required for all ages under California law)
- Current proof of boat registration for the boat (if you just purchased the boat, please provide the bill of sale with title front and back side completed and signed)
- Current proof of insurance (Need either the certificate OR declarations page) with additional insured endorsement worded as: “City of Sacramento, its officials, employees and volunteers 2710 Ramp Way Sacramento, CA 95818”
Application approval
Approval is contigent upon a review that will include, but is not limited to, consideration of the following:
- Vessel condition & ability of vessel to travel on its own power to and from the Marina
- Account history with the Sacramento Marina
- Review for fraudulent documentation
- If required documents are received and approved
- If a slip is available
After application approval
Applicant will receive an email with the Slip License Agreement to sign. Fees be paid in full the day of signing.
Final assignment of a slip is contingent upon satisfaction of the following conditions:
- All documents are received
- The agreement is signed
- Fees are paid
Vessel is subject measurement verification by Marina staff upon vessel docking. If vessel exceeds the allowed 10% overhang of the rented slip, a letter will be mailed a letter informing of the length and to discuss further options.
Please be advised that slip rental rate may increase due to length overage that will require transfer to a larger slip.
