SFD EMS career info
- This is a career, full-time, position within the Sacramento Fire Department.
- We are looking to hire Paramedics and EMT's.
- This is NOT a Fire Suppression position, you will not be fighting fires.
- Should you choose to move into Fire Suppression, the process is simplified for EMS career employees.
- The SFD Single Role ambulances will be deployed out of our Fire Stations. The positions will be 12 hour shifts, with a 3 day on / 3 day off schedule.
Requirements
- 18 Years or older
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to work in the US
- Ability to pass background / medical / psych evaluations Either
- EMT-P (Paramedic) License or EMT-B (Basic) certification.
EMT and Paramedic salary and benefits
EMT salary range
$52,922.15 - $64,327.20 Annually
Paramedic salary range
$60,860.46 - $73,976.28 Annually
Salaries above do not include incentives. Stacked incentives will increase compensation.
Retirement - Cal PERS Safety Retirement, PEPRA 2.7% at 57 Represented by Local 522 Fire Union.
Ability to automatically upgrade to Paramedic from EMT.
