Public Counter Information & Appointments
The Public Counter offers a range of in-person services and appointment options to assist with permits, general inquiries, and cashiering needs.

Hours of operation
- Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Appointments prioritized; walk-ins accommodated as availability allows)

You can request an appointment for the following services:
- Minor permits
- General questions
- Fee payment
All other business will continue to be done electronically. Please note: paper plans are not accepted.
All plan review submittals/resubmittals must be submitted online through the Public Permit Portal.
We are also available to assist you through our online services.
Public counter appointments
Appointments for minor permit services and general questions are available for Building, Planning, Development Engineering, Fire, Housing and Dangerous Building and Utilities.
For Code Compliance Division appointments, please see details below, as these programs are no longer booked through the Public Counter Portal.
When scheduling an appointment, please indicate:
- Project site address
- Nature or scope of the work
- Whether commercial or residential
- Contact information, including phone number and e-mail address (this will be used to send pre-appointment forms/information and for confirmation of the appointment)
Code Compliance Division appointments
To book a virtual or in-person meeting with Code Compliance, Rental Housing Inspection Program, Tenant Protection Program, Vacant Lot, Weed Abatement, or Hearings & Appeals, visit each program's webpage for details. Meetings with these programs are no longer booked through the Public Counter Portal.

Cashiering services and appointments
Cashiering services are available Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm.

To cancel/reschedule an appointment
Please cancel your scheduled appointment if you receive service prior to your appointment date to allow others to book the time slot.
