Downtown Employee Merchant Permits

Downtown Employee Merchant permits provide parking in designated spaces on the street with exemptions to meter payment and time limits after 2:30 p.m.

Program benefits

• Permits valid in designated locations 7 days per week (after 2:30 p.m.).
• Reduces the hassle of searching for parking for work. 
• Permits provide exemptions to any time limits or meters at designated locations.
• Monthly rate is lower than the average on-street parking rate. 
• Up to four vehicles may be registered to one permit. However, the system only allows one vehicle per account to park in these areas at any time.
• The permit credential is the vehicle license plate (ePermit). No physical placard or stickers are required when parked. 

Eligibility requirements

• Place of employment must be in downtown Sacramento.
• Proof of employment required upon application.     

Permit limitations

This permit does not exempt permit holders from:

• Any regulations enforced at colored curbs (red, white, blue, green, or yellow)
• Any posted "No Parking" regulations 
• Any regulations not related to time limit restrictions or meter payment requirements 
• On-street regulations prohibiting vehicles parking on the street for more than 72 hours in the same space
• Parking of more than one vehicle on a registered account in any designated location at the same time. 

Documentation requirements

All of the following documents must be submitted for consideration:

• Most recent copy of paystub from current employer reflecting employer company name and physical address. 
• Signed verification of current employment on employer letterhead with employer contact information. 
• Valid credit or debit card to deduct monthly payments.

Monthly fee

This program only accepts online payments with a valid credit or debit card through the SacPark payment portal. Payments may be entered manually each month or auto-deducted for no extra charge. 

Manual payments: Due by 1st of each month 

Auto-deduct option: System will deduct monthly amount from a valid credit or debit card two days before the 1st of the month. 

Failure to pay on time may result in deactivation of the ePermit.
