Training today's youth to be tomorrow's firefighters

The Sacramento Firefighter Youth Academy (SFYA) is a 9-month program aimed at youth in high school. The purpose of the SFYA is to expose the youth to a viable career within the fire service.

The Sacramento Fire Department is committed to reaching out to the youth of our community by providing them with a safe environment that builds confidence and promotes character building, personal growth, responsibility, and accountability through mentoring, training, and teamwork.

The youth academy will introduce our youth to the fire service and provide them with learning opportunities that challenge and inspire them to realize their potential and guide them toward being productive members of our community.

This is a cost-free program. All uniforms and equipment needed to participate will be provided.
