Raider, who is a male gray Pit Bull, standing with his new adopter on the bench inside the front lobby open_in_full

Raider was adopted after his Pups & Pjs sleepover! A week before his adoption, he was taken out on a sleepover through our Pups & PJs program and had an amazing time, doing well with kids and around other animals and snuggling in for a good nights sleep!

He was brought back and put back up for adoption after his sleepover and was avaialble for another week. His person could not stop thinking about him and came back the following weekend to finalize the adoption! It's the perfect ending for them both.

Sweet Finn was adopted thanks to his incredible Doggie Day Out. His outing buddy submitted the most amazing notes from their Wednesday adventure, and with a little teamwork (and a sprinkle of AI magic ), we turned them into a bio that captured Finn’s awesome personality.

A family read his bio on their way home, and it was so compelling they made a detour straight to the shelter… And adopted him on the spot!

Huge shoutout to the amazing Doggie Day Out participant who spent the day with Finn. You made a life-changing difference. Finn is off to his forever home, and we couldn’t be happier!

Jazz, who is a black and brindle Pit Bull,. sitting with her adopter on a wooden bench in a dog play yard open_in_full

A staff member from the City of Sacramento’s Community Development Department (CDD) visited our shelter and decided to take one of our pups, sweet Jazz, on a Doggie Day Out adventure. What started as a fun day trip turned into a life-changing moment. Jazz met her future adopter during her last potty break of the day!

He was so smitten that he headed straight to the shelter before 5:00 pm to make the adoption official! Our CDD participant shared that the experience was not only a joy, but a great way to connect with other staff members at her work site. She mentioned that seeing Jazz made everyone’s day! A win-win for everyone — especially Jazz!

It’s the perfect ending for Ziggy (now Ruben) after his pups and pjs adventure! At first, his appointment didn’t show up, but it was fate when his family saw our plea and reached out! They picked him up 10 minutes later and took him home for the night.

The next morning, we got the best message, “We worked on some training and have felt such a strong connection to him he has been having such a great time we would love to be his new family!”

We wish Ruben and his new family the happiest life! Thank you for adopting!
