Adopt A Dog or Puppy

ADOPTION ADVISORY: Multiple dogs at the shelter have tested positive for Strep zoo, a potentially serious and contagious bacterial disease.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • 1) Adoptions are still open.
  • 2) All dogs have been given a preventative antibiotic that will drastically reduce their chances of getting sick.
  • 3) If adopted dogs do get sick, we will provide medications/treatment for 10 days post-adoption.
  • 4) Your animals at home are unlikely to get it. Strep zoo spreads in crowded environments in dogs that are immunocompromised from stress or other conditions, and the antibiotic treatment your adopted dog received will make transmission spread unlikely in a home environment.

Please go to this informational page for options and next steps.

Adoption fees for adult dogs and puppies

  • Adult dog (over 6 months old) - $25*   (regular price: $100)
  • Puppy (under 6 months old) - $150*

* Adult dogs and puppies in high demand may have higher adoption fees. Charging higher fees for those in high demand helps fund animals with special needs and allows us to offer lower fees for animals who struggle to get adopted. An adoption counselor will let you know if a special adoption fee applies.

What's included with every adult dog and puppy adoption

  • Spay or neuter surgery*
  • Microchip (with registration)
  • Bordetella and DHPP vaccinations
  • Rabies vaccination
