Programs and Registration

Camp Sacramento offers eight MINI Camp (4 days/3 nights) sessions and three WEEKLONG (6 days/5 nights) sessions between June and August of each year. We provide guests with 3 meals a day and a vacation full of summer camp activities… all included in the camp fees listed below! 

We are also offering two new programs this summer, so even more families can enjoy the Camp Sac fun: the BONUS SUMMER SESSION and A DAY AT CAMP. These sessions will have modified schedules but will still allow new campers to experience the traditional Camp Sac program (see special pricing and dates below). Registration for these programs will begin available in the Spring of 2027.

Family lodging accommodations are in 3-person, 4-person, and 6-person cabins (price based on size). All cabins available for Family Camp 2027 will be released for booking on Saturday, 22nd August 2026 @ 11am. Numerous cabins of all sizes will be available for booking!

1. Create an UltraCamp account, including accurate names and information for ALL potential attendees in your party. Please make sure your contact information is accurate as the primary account holder, and make sure all birthdates are accurate for billing purposes. 
2. From your UltraCamp home page, select the link to “My Reservations” => “New Reservation” to see sessions with open spots available (make sure all your party members are added to the reservation as camp rates are per person). 
3. Select a session from those available with dates that best suit your desired vacation time. 
4. Select a cabin from the list of those available, paying close attention to the cabin size and the size of your attending party. 
5. Following the link to “Make a Payment,” pay your non-refundable deposit (Mini= $100/Cabin, Weeklong= $160/cabin) to make sure your spot is secured.

• Reservations must be made through our reservation website: UltraCamp

• Guests with a full session reservation will be eligible for priority re-reservation of their current cabin. 
• Any cabins that are unreserved by the final evening on the last full day of a session 5:30pm will become available to the public on Saturday, 22nd August 2026 @ 11am.
• Absolutely NO reservations are accepted for future sessions (i.e., no reservation for sessions next summer, if those sessions have not yet happened this summer).
• Rebooking at Camp will happen Monday through Friday during each weekly session, and any day before departure during each mini session. Failure to rebook your cabin will result in that cabin becoming available during open enrollment.
• Camp Sacramento and the City of Sacramento would like to remind you that our policies do not allow Cabins or Deposits to be transferred between parties or UltraCamp accounts under any circumstances. To promote a reservation system that is as fair, inclusive, and unbiased as possible, cabins can only be obtained through official Camp Sacramento sources or outlets (i.e. UltraCamp or Waitlists).

All reservations will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and require a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due at the time of registration. 

• Mini Deposit: $100/cabin
• Weekly Deposit: $160/cabin

Refund Policy:

• All reservations will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and require a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT due at the time of the reservation. In case of cancellation, all refund requests must be submitted by email to campsacramento@cityofsacramento.org. 
• Reservation deposits are non-refundable. 
• Customers are eligible for a 100% refund of total reservation costs (minus the non-refundable deposit) if reservations are canceled after April 1, but before May 1. 
• Customers are eligible for a 50% refund of total reservation costs (minus the non-refundable deposit) if reservations are canceled May 1 through June 1. 
• Customers are no longer eligible for any refund after June 1, without exception.

Schedule of activities

Camp Sacramento is set up so you can stay as busy as you’d like! We offer scheduled age group activities between breakfast and dinner, with All-Camp activities scheduled in the evenings. There are also some special activities sprinkled in, and plenty of unscheduled activities that you can do pretty much whenever! Follow the link below to see a sample of the Camp Sac Activity Schedule!

Age Groups: The Camp Sac Program largely focused on Age Group Activities. Age Groups meet at a specific location for every scheduled activity, and break down as follows:

• Minnows (3-5 years old, meet at Lodge Steps)
• Chipmunks (6-9 years old, meet at Campfire Pit)
• Marmots (10-12 years old, meet at Store Patio)
• Teens (13-17 years old, meet at Volleyball Court)
• Adults (18+, meet at Camp Bell)

Camp rules

The Camp Director possess the authority and reserves the right to eject anyone from the property, without refund, for not observing the following camp safety rules:

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Alcoholic beverages can be consumed by campers aged 21 years and older. Beer is available for sale in the camp store. Campers aged 21 and over may bring their own alcoholic beverages to camp.

CAMPER BEHAVIOR AND SUPERVISION

Parents and/or guardians are responsible for the overall supervision and the safe and appropriate behavior of campers in their cabins and/or group. Parents and/or guardians required to inform all campers of the camp rules and regulations.

CANDLES/LANTERNS

Candles, kerosene, and oil lanterns are not permitted in any building.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Checking in and out is taken care of in the Camp Store. Check-in time Begins at 12:00 Noon on the arrival day, and check-out time is no later than 10:00 am on the departure day. Camp Sacramento MUST have 1) a signed hold harmless agreement, and 2) a signed health form for ALL attendees in your party before distributing any cabin keys. Keys will not be distributed until all forms are completed and logged into the UltraCamp system. If a key is lost, a $20 per key replacement fee will be collected at checkout.

CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES AND FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS

The use of gasoline, kerosene, explosives, flammable liquids, and poisonous substances are prohibited. This includes the use of pesticides and insecticides.

COOKING

Cooking is not permitted in cabins, or on Camp Sacramento grounds and the forest. All meals are provided and prepared by Camp Sacramento staff.

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

If you have an emergency while at camp immediately notify the Camp Director of any emergency situations.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Fires
• Missing persons
• Medical emergencies or injuries
• Intruders

FIRES/FIREBUILDING

Fires are permitted only in already established fire ring or fireplaces. Fires must never be left unattended, and will only take place under the supervision of properly trained Camp Sacramento Staff. Creating new fire rings is prohibited and will result in ejection from camp.

FISHING

Campers may fish in the South Fork of the American River. Camp Sacramento has a few poles available to rent. Fishing can be done along the bank or along the bridge. A fishing license is required to fish.

HEALTH INFORMATION

Each person in your cabin is required to complete and submit the Camper Health form prior to check-in. Keys to cabins will only be given upon collection of completed and signed Camper Health form.

GROUNDS

Please help us preserve our beautiful camp by maintaining and protecting the plants and wildlife. This includes the preservation of annual and perennial plants, trees and shrubs and to practice good conservation. Therefore, the following must be adhered to:

• No digging, moving, or removal of stones
• No picking or removal of flora, fauna, animal or mineral substance
• No littering or dumping of trash
• No driving on service roads, see exception below
• No cutting of timber or cutting trees.

ILLEGAL DRUGS

The use of illegal drugs is prohibited.

INSURANCE

Each camper must provide written evidence of medical and accident insurance coverage on their Camper Health History form. Coverage may be provided by the individual or family.

LODGING AREAS

Beds in lodging areas are set up per building capacity and Health Department regulations. Beds and mattresses shall not be moved to other cabins nor are they to be used outside.

MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS

Any maintenance problems should be immediately reported to camp staff so repairs may be made promptly. Campers are asked not to attempt their own repairs.

MEALS

All meals are provided by Camp Sacramento staff. All campers are required to submit a Camper Health form that details any food allergies, sensitives, restrictions or accommodations required.

PARKING/VEHICLES

Vehicles are to be parked in designated and numbered spots next to cabins. Service roads and fire lanes may be used for unloading and loading of gear only, and must remain clear always. The use of “off road vehicles” and dirt bikes are prohibited.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT

Camp Sacramento is not responsible for loss or damage to clothing or personal possessions including, but not limited to, sports equipment, guitars and other musical instruments, and items brought for the group’s program.

PETS

Pets are not permitted on camp property for the safety of our property and visitors. Documented service animals are allowed with prior notification and approval from the Camp Director.

QUIET HOURS

Please be considerate of other campers in using communal areas. Quiet hours are to be observed from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

RECREATION ACTIVITES, EQUIPMENT AND AREAS

Camp recreational activities and use of recreational equipment and areas are included in the reservation fees. Damaged recreation equipment or facilities are the responsibility of the camper or camper’s parent or guardian.

SMOKING

Smoking is permitted in the designated area only. The designated smoking area is by the Camp Sac Bridge. Cigarette butts must be properly disposed of and not left lying on the ground. Smoking is prohibited in any buildings, fire rings, or on hiking trails.

TELEPHONE

There is a phone available for emergency use only in the camp office.

TENTS

Tent camping is not permitted at Camp Sacramento.

TRANSPORTATION

Camp Sacramento does not provide transportation to/from camp or away from camp for campers at any time. Emergency transportation is the responsibility of the family and must be available always. It takes approximately 20 minutes for an ambulance from South Lake Tahoe area to reach Camp Sacramento. It takes approximately 30 minutes to reach Barton Memorial hospital from Camp Sacramento.

WATER AVAILABILITY

Based on the operation of the water treatment plant, drinking water is available from approximately May 15 thru October 15.

WEAPONS/FIREWORKS

Weapons/fireworks of any kind are prohibited on camp property. This includes guns, hunting items, large knives and any type of fireworks.

WATERFRONT

Camp Sacramento has one riverfront area - the South Fork of the American River. When in the riverfront area, children must be always accompanied by a parent/guardian. The Waterfront is publicly accessible, and Camp Sac offers no scheduled/organized Camp activities at the Waterfront. Campers are responsible for themselves and their family members when at the riverfront area.

YOUTH SUPERVISION

To ensure adequate supervision of youth groups the following staff:camper ratios must be observed:

• Marmots (9-14) 1:8
