Sacramento Valley Station is excited to announce that construction has officially begun on the SVS North Entrance, marking a major milestone in expanding access and improving connectivity to Sacramento’s growing Railyards District.
Crews have started early site work at the future SVS North Entrance location, where the existing stairs and concrete walls will be removed to make way for the new entrance. This transformation will enhance access and safety for passengers while supporting the continued revitalization of the historic Central Shops District.
The SVS North Entrance is expected to begin full construction by November, bringing improved pedestrian pathways, accessibility upgrades, and a modern design that connects directly to the Railyards’ mixed-use developments.
The Railyards District is home to Sacramento’s historic Paint Shop, which will soon be transformed into a vibrant new concert and event venue, opening Fall of 2027. Learn more about the Railyards Central Shops’ future vision here:
Below are recent photos showing the start of demolition and site preparation work. The pictured stairs and fencing mark the area where the new SVS North Entrance will soon emerge.
