Eric Forbeck
Meet Lieutenant Eric Forbeck
Office of Operations – South Command
Lieutenant Eric Forbeck began his career with the Sacramento Police Department in 1993. He is currently a Watch Commander with South Command.
Eric has worked many assignments throughout his career including Student Trainee, Community Service Officer, Patrol Officer, Neighborhood Police Officer, K9 Officer, Felony Assaults Detective, Sergeant; Parole Intervention Team (PIT), Crime Suppression Team-Central, East Gang Enforcement Team, and Internal Affairs. Eric was promoted to Lieutenant in September 2018. Prior to joining SPD, Eric was a lifeguard for Sacramento City.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Sacramento State University.
Eric is the recipient of the 2017 Sherwood Carthen Service Above Self Award.
Eric came to Sacramento for college and was hired as a Student Trainee, he knew immediately the Sacramento Police Department is where he wanted to work.
