Pocket Road Sewer Repairs

City Department of Utilities crews have recently been working to repair a part of the sewer system and road in the Pocket Neighborhood at Pocket Road near Sea Lion Court.

Because river levels are high, the ground is saturated with water, which has made repairing the road challenging.

The repairs may cause lane changes and road closures to Pocket Road in the coming weeks.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are reminded to stay out of all closure areas.

Pocket Road remains fully open with temporary repairs in place
Staff completed a site survey of the area following temporary repairs, and will continue monitoring the site to ensure soil conditions remain stable
Plans for permanent repairs have been completed, staff expect to receive vendor proposals by the end of this week

A recent site survey has indicated that site conditions -- which contributed to the road damage -- have stabilized
Temporary roadway improvements are scheduled to begin next week

July 7, 2023

Two site surveys have been scheduled next week to determine next steps for temporary repairs
Utilities staff are working with City Public Works staff to coordinate temporary roadway repairs, which are expected to begin soon
Staff are also working on a preliminary plan for permanent repairs
One lane of travel is open to both directions on Pocket Road

June 30, 2023

Crews are inspecting the sewer system and surveying the area to help ensure repairs can be made as quickly as possible
Staff currently estimate the road will be open with temporary improvements by the end of July and construction for permanent improvements could start by September
