About Hmong Youth and Parents United (HYPU)

Hmong Youth and Parents United (HYPU) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering Hmong and other marginalized youth, families, and elders through culturally grounded programs, education, and leadership opportunities. HYPU creates safe and inclusive spaces that honor cultural identity, foster intergenerational connections, and support academic, social, and personal development. Through youth activities, mentorship circles, community events, and resource navigation, HYPU works to strengthen the well-being and resilience of the community while uplifting culture, unity, and collective growth.

Taylor Vang is a community advocate, creative professional, and Program Manager at Hmong Youth and Parents United (HYPU), where she oversees communications, events, digital media, and disparity prevention initiatives. Her work focuses on addressing barriers faced by Hmong, immigrant, refugee, and underserved communities, with an emphasis on language access, equitable services, community resources, and ensuring that families have a voice in the systems that impact their lives. Beyond her nonprofit work, Taylor is the founder of Thread Tradition, preserving vintage and antique Hmong clothing as historical pieces that carry the artistry, stories, and legacy of Hmong ancestors across generations. Through SESU Production, she also produces concerts, cultural showcases, and community events in Sacramento that create platforms for artists, culture, and community connection.
