Court-ordered community service at the Front Street Animal Shelter

Interested in completing your court-ordered community service with us? We are happy to offer opportunities for individuals who meet our requirements and are committed to supporting the shelter and the animals in our care.

Service requirements

  • A minimum of 50 hours required to participate.
  • All hours must be completed performing shelter-approved chores such as the dog morning routine or general shelter assistance.
  • Volunteer shift hours for court-ordered community service are from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays only.
  • A set schedule is required. You must sign in and out each day to receive credit for your hours.

Getting started

Please email the following documents to the Volunteer Team:

  • A brief description of what the community service is for
  • Your community service hours log (to be completed and signed by our staff)
  • Contact information for your probation or case officer

Once we have received your documents, a member of our Volunteer Team will reach out to coordinate your start date and schedule. Please allow at least 3 months to complete the volunteer onboarding process and your required service hours. The total time needed may vary depending on the number of hours you are required to complete.

Thank you for your interest in serving at Front Street — Your help makes a difference!
