The City of Sacramento, in partnership with the Sacramento Tree Foundation has creatied Sacramento’s first cherry blossom park – the Hanami Line – a mixture of nature, art and culture along the Sacramento River.

Learn more about the Hanami Line.

Husband and wife Artist Team Reed+Madden Design developed the concept for the public art after extensive public engagement and discussions with community members. The result is a thoughtful, elegant addition to the Sacramento waterfront.

New Park for Sacramento Waterfront

The project was funded by the Sacramento Tree Foundation, City of Sacramento, Caltrans Clean California Grant, commitments from UC Davis Health and philanthropic gifts from individuals.

Features of the park include 100 “Pink Flair” cherry blossoms, public art, native and drought tolerant landscaping, lighting, and ample seating with an area meant to host festivals.

The park serves as a connection point between the new Railyards developments, Old Sacramento and the I Street Bridge along the Sacramento River.

The Hanami Line opened in with a community dedication in October, 2024.
