Practice Areas

Ms. Burdick is the supervisor of the General Counsel and Advisory Division, overseeing the legal work for various city departments, including Community Development, Convention and Cultural Services, Human Resources, Utilities, and Public Works. She also advises the Planning Division of the Community Development Department, the Planning and Design Commission, and the Preservation Commission, focusing on land use and environmental law. Ms. Burdick also serves on the office’s Draft Ordinance Review Committee.

Background and Experience

Ms. Burdick joined the City Attorney’s Office in 2011. Since that time, she has worked with many city departments, including Community Development (Planning and Preservation), Public Works, and Convention and Cultural Services. She was promoted to Supervising Deputy City Attorney in January 2024.

Ms. Burdick is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern District of California, and all California state courts.

Education

Ms. Burdick graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics. She earned her law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating Order of the Coif.
