The Office of the City Manager has released a Language Access Policy reflecting the City’s commitment to ensuring all residents—regardless of language proficiency—can meaningfully access City programs, resources, services, and information.
The City of Sacramento can provide assistance in multiple languages, including the top LEP languages in the City of Sacramento: Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hmong, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Punjabi, Russian, Persian (Dari, Farsi), Hindi, and many others.
The Language Access Policy (released May 2025) establishes the language access program and the role of the Language Access Coordinator. This policy endeavors to formalize processes, training, marketing and outreach, and protocols. This policy shall be implemented to the extent that funding is available and to the extent permissible under the law.
