Morgan Brown, Color The Block

Morgan Brown is a dynamic advocate for health equity, community empowerment, and social justice. With over five years of experience as a certified HUD Housing Counselor, Morgan has dedicated herself to helping low-income and underserved families navigate financial literacy and achieve homeownership. Her work with the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) has been instrumental in advocating for equitable access to affordable housing. As the Founder and President of Color The Block, she leads initiatives that empower youth and foster creativity in underserved communities, particularly through the launch of the South Central Sacramento Community Garden Initiative and a family centered Farmers Market, which includes a monthly Kid's Garden Club and free horseback riding.

Morgan’s grassroots experience extends beyond housing, as she has worked alongside the late President Aubry Stone at the California Black Chamber of Commerce, advocating for the economic empowerment of Black-owned businesses. She also serves on the California Department of Public Health's Black Health Equity Advisory Group, focusing on addressing health disparities in the community. Additionally, Morgan is a graduate of the 2nd Cohort of the National Parent Leadership Institute (PLTI), which teaches and encourages parents to become leaders in their communities by advocating for change, strengthening family-school partnerships, and actively engaging in local decision-making. Her diverse experiences make her a powerful advocate for sustainable community development, inspiring others to create meaningful, lasting change.
