Sacramento START

The Sacramento START Expanded Learning Programs offer a safe and supportive space for students after school, providing enrichment and educational opportunities that engage children creatively, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. We empower students to explore and discover their potential, inspiring them to create lives filled with choices.

Since its launch in January 1996, Sacramento START has positively impacted the lives of over 100,000 children and youth. Today, approximately 500 students are enrolled across five school sites in the Robla Unified School District.

Our program offers an exciting variety of experiences, including:

  • Academic support to strengthen learning.
  • Enrichment opportunities to spark creativity and curiosity.
  • Physical activities that promote health and wellness.
  • Nutrition and recreation programs to support food security and healthy lifestyles.
  • Environmental initiatives that encourage awareness and stewardship.

Through these opportunities, students develop critical thinking skills, build confidence, and form healthy habits that last a lifetime.

We welcome all families with incoming TK through sixth-grade students to register (capacity limited).

Sacramento START is proud to be one of the region’s leading Expanded Learning Program providers, serving the greater Sacramento community for over 27 years.

START offers...

The Sacramento START program helps children throughout the Sacramento region gain knowledge, expand their universe outside neighborhood boundaries, provide opportunities to grow and flourish, build and develop trust and create and fulfill dreams. With this in mind, the program promotes youth development and builds on individual student assets. Positive youth development promotes social and emotional growth and greater attachment to school which, in turn, translates into enhanced learning opportunities during the regular school day. The Sacramento START program includes the following three components: homework and assistance, enrichment (literacy), and recreation. The START program also includes a supper and/or snack program.
