The City of Sacramento is launching the Arden Way and Auburn Boulevard Vision Zero and Mobility Plan - a community-driven effort to improve safety, mobility, and access along two of the City’s highest-priority corridors.
Spanning Arden Way (from Del Paso Boulevard to Ethan Way) and Auburn Boulevard/Harvard Street (from Marconi Circle to Arden Way), this plan will reimagine how people move through North Sacramento—whether walking, biking, driving, or taking transit. The plan corridors are part of Sacramento’s Vision Zero High Injury Network, meaning they experience some of the highest serious crash rates in the city. With support from a Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant, this plan will identify realistic, community-supported solutions to create safe, accessible, and inclusive streets for all.
Arden Way and Auburn Boulevard are vital connectors in North Sacramento. They link neighborhoods, jobs, transit, schools, parks, and shopping areas—but they lack the infrastructure needed for everyone to travel confidently and comfortably. This area is home to a diverse population and includes neighborhoods that have historically faced underinvestment.

Your voice is essential! This planning effort is rooted in equity, deep listening, and partner collaboration. The planning team is working with local organizations, residents, business owners, and schools to ensure the plan reflects community priorities.
Community members will help shape each phase of the plan—from identifying issues to reviewing draft concepts to confirming final recommendations.
