Federal American Rescue Plan

The American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law in March 2021, provided $112.2 million to the City in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The City Council in September 2021 approved the ARP Framework and Funding Priorities, which include the following five key focus areas and funding commitments:

  • Small business and commercial corridor revitalization
  • City homeless and housing commitment
  • Youth, workforce training, and gang prevention
  • Arts and the creative economy
  • Valuing city employees and addressing organizational needs

The City’s ARP funds must be spent by Dec. 31, 2026. Additional information regarding the City’s ARP activities, including funding opportunities and Council actions, is available at cityofsacramento.org/ARP.
