Required Services for Special Events

Service Options for Special Events

Garbage and recycle services are required at all events.

If food will be present at the event, either sold by vendors, provided for free, or brought in by attendees, organics services will be required.

As part of the waste plan, event organizers will need to indicate which service options they will be using for each waste stream, as well as provide proof of the service.

Service Providers

Haulers

The City has posted a list of Private Franchise Waste Haulers  authorized to provide waste hauling services.

Third-Party

The City does not register or regulate Third-Party recyclers. The Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps is one entity that provides some recycling services.

Food Vendors and Trucks

On-site food vendors are responsible for maintaining a debris-free area around their food vending site; providing their customers with appropriate receptables to separate their solid waste, recyclables, and organic waste; and pick-up any debris in their surrounding area prior to departing.

Food trucks are required to provide their own receptacles for garbage, recycling, and organics next to their trucks for customers to use.

Although food vendors are required to have recycling and organic receptacles at their vending site, event organizers are still responsible for providing organic and recycling containers for the event as a whole.
